City Diner, City Favorite
Words by Azam Malik
Breakfast, lunch and that’s it. That would have to be the most honest survey of the small, comfy little diner, City Diner, which is tucked along Broad Street. Having passed it often, but never truly wondering what was inside, I ventured in this weekend with absolutely no expectations whatsoever.
City Diner is wonderful place to just sit, talk, and watch the whole city come in and eat, talk, laugh, and then leave. It doesn’t pretend to provide haute cuisine or fill some small subculture niche. It doesn’t show off or do anything more than what it can. I’ve only been the one time, but I can very well see myself going again and again and again, alone or with company, summer, spring, winter, and fall, breakfast and lunch.
